- After graduation, apply for a job-seeking resident certificate from the National Immigration Agency (valid for 1 year, renewable once; employment is not allowed during this period).
- Once hired, graduates submit the evaluation form and relevant documents to the employer.
- The employer applies for a work permit from the Ministry of Labor.
- The Ministry of Labor reviews and issues the permit within 7 days of receiving the application.
- With the work permit, apply to the National Immigration Agency to convert your visa to a work-based resident certificate, which allows legal employment in Taiwan.
🆕 New Policies for Staying in Taiwan (2024 Update)
- Quota restrictions for staying in Taiwan have been lifted. As long as your points under the scoring system reach 70 points, you can legally work in Taiwan.
- The hospitality industry is now allowed to hire international students with an associate degree or higher.
- Students with more than one year of internship experience in Taiwan during their studies receive an extra 10 points.
- Students who received government scholarships or ranked in the top 30% academically can receive an additional 20 points.
- Social worker positions are now recognized as "specialized or technical work."
- New categories for financial and tax services include: securities, futures professionals, and financial institutions.
- New roles in the manufacturing industry include: scheduling and supervision.
