🎯 Purpose
To address the employment needs of international and overseas Chinese students after graduation and to help them build a solid foundation for job applications, this workshop was organized with a focus on resume writing. Assistant Professor Heidi Chang from the Department of International Media and Entertainment Management at I-Shou University was invited to share practical experience and professional insights on resume writing. The session emphasized content structuring, key presentation strategies, and common pitfalls, enabling students to grasp essential resume writing principles and improve the completeness and clarity of their resumes. Through this workshop, students are expected to strengthen their overall understanding of resume preparation, enhance their self-marketing skills, and better prepare for future career opportunities.
📌 Features and Implementation
This workshop was conducted in both English and Chinese sessions and was specifically designed for international and overseas Chinese students, with a strong emphasis on practical application and interactive participation. The course was delivered by an experienced instructor, covering common resume formats in Taiwan, key writing techniques, and interview preparation strategies, helping students enhance the professionalism and effectiveness of their resumes.
The teaching approach was guidance-based. Professor Heidi Chang adopted a lively and engaging teaching style, incorporating interactive questioning to encourage active participation and critical thinking. The sessions created a relaxed yet productive learning environment. In addition to learning resume structure and content organization, students were guided to clarify their career goals and identify their personal strengths.
After the seminar, students were invited to submit their completed or revised resumes for individual review. Professor Chang provided specific feedback and suggestions for improvement. Overall, the workshop was well-structured and highly practical, effectively helping students identify key job application strategies and enhancing their readiness and competitiveness in the job market.
