We are delighted to welcome Alejandro Portillo (Alex) , originally from El Salvador, to share his real-life experiences of transitioning from an international student to a Sales Manager at a Taiwanese company.
From studying in Taiwan and learning Mandarin to adapting to local life, finding a job after graduation, and advancing into a management position, Alex will share the opportunities, challenges, and lessons that shaped his career journey.

Alejandro Portillo
AVTECH Security Corporation
Alejandro Portillo (Alex) is originally from El Salvador. In 2015, he came to Taiwan as a recipient of the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship.
He earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from National Chengchi University (NCCU), graduating among the top three students in his department.
In 2020, Alex joined AVTECH Security Corporation as a Sales Account Manager. He later became an Assistant Sales Manager before being promoted to Sales Manager in 2024.
He is currently responsible for international business development, strategic customer relationships, and overseas projects. He also collaborates with research and development and product teams to deliver solutions for global markets.
Fluent in Spanish, English, and Mandarin, Alex will share how he transitioned from international student to working professional in Taiwan, along with the challenges, lessons, and achievements along the way.
