📌 Features and Implementation
This seminar, themed "Taiwan Anchor, Global Connection: A Guide for International Students in the Cross-Cultural Workplace," invited Ms. Vanessa Lu, Head of HR, Google Taiwan, to share her extensive professional experience and insights in the field of human resources within international companies. The event was designed to help students gain a deeper understanding of global workplace trends, talent development directions, and career planning strategies. Conducted entirely in English, the seminar combined a keynote session with a resume review service to provide practical guidance for students’ career exploration and job preparation.
The seminar focused on the key talent attributes, core workplace competencies, and career development trends valued by both international enterprises and workplaces in Taiwan. It aimed to help students better understand corporate recruitment perspectives and career planning priorities, while also strengthening their readiness for future employment in a globalized labor market.
In addition, the seminar emphasized how international students can establish their foundation in Taiwan while maintaining a global perspective, exploring diverse opportunities that align with their skills and career aspirations. At the same time, Taiwanese students were encouraged to broaden their international outlook and enhance their competitiveness in cross-cultural workplace environments.
The speaker also discussed how cultural differences influence various aspects of daily life and professional settings, including communication styles, workplace behavior, interpersonal relationships, and teamwork. Through real-world examples, students were encouraged to understand and adapt to different cultural contexts while maintaining their own unique strengths. This approach helps enhance cross-cultural communication skills and workplace adaptability, enabling students to perform more effectively in future professional environments.
Furthermore, the seminar introduced multiple dimensions of talent assessment used in international companies, including communication, evaluation, leadership, and trust-building. Through multidimensional assessment frameworks and practical examples, students were guided to identify their strengths from both a self-assessment and HR perspective, and to strategically apply these strengths in the workplace to improve performance and increase personal value.
Finally, the event concluded with a resume review session, where the speaker provided professional feedback on students' resumes and career development directions, helping them strengthen their application materials and better prepare for future international career opportunities.
