🎯 Purpose
To support overseas Chinese and international students in securing employment in Taiwan after graduation, NSYSU has established the "Career and Employment Hub for International Students" in 2025. The hub aims to strengthen career counseling and employment assistance mechanisms. To help international students better understand the practical aspects and challenges of starting a business in Taiwan, we have invited international alumni, Mr. Ryan Fernandez & Mr. Graham Dart, both of whom have started their own businesses in Taiwan, to return to campus and share their personal experiences. Through their firsthand stories, students will gain valuable insights into key topics such as legal regulations, resource application, networking, and marketing strategies faced by foreign entrepreneurs in Taiwan, inspiring them to explore their own future career and entrepreneurial possibilities.
📌 Features and Implementation
This event featured Ryan Fernandez (GHRM Alumni) and Graham Dart (IBMBA Alumni), who shared insights on how international students can kickstart their entrepreneurial journey in Taiwan. The alumni emphasized that the first step in starting a business is finding the right accountant, as accountants are familiar with financial and legal regulations and can help entrepreneurs launch their ventures smoothly and in compliance. They also mentioned Business Services – Nexia Trans-Asia as a valuable resource for aspiring entrepreneurs.
During their sharing, the alumni outlined three key strategies for entrepreneurship: leveraging experience, networking , sustainability and adaptability. Their ventures cover F&B and leisure projects (Brickyard, Cijin Sunset Bar, Starlight, Pier Garden, Legends Taiwan) as well as sports and community initiatives (Kaohsiung BJJ & MMA). They also shared practical experiences from planning and resource integration to execution, emphasizing the importance of building professional networks, being adaptable, and pursuing sustainable operations.
