Recruitment Regulations and Legal Responsibility
Recruitment of students for the New Program must comply with regulations such as the "Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan".
Recruitment through manpower agencies is strictly prohibited.
Violations involving agencies or inappropriate promotion will be penalized according to the law, including:
- Reduced or suspended student quotas, and reduction of subsidies
- Public disclosure of violating schools
- Placement under special guidance
- Referral to judicial authorities for investigation
Student Data Registration Obligations
Schools must accurately register the following information of New Program students in the "Information System for the Management of International Students in Taiwan":
- Enrollment
- Leave of absence
- Withdrawal
- Status changes or termination
Teaching Quality Review
The teaching quality of the New Program will be included in the inspection items under "Protection of the Right to Education for International Students in Institutions of Higher Education".
Integration of Department Resources
Departments already running New Southbound Programs or International Programs for Foreign Students may still apply for the New Program. However, they must review their teaching capacity to expand recruitment.
Quota and Student-Teacher Ratio Calculation
The student quota for the New Program is approved as an additional number.
The calculation of the student-teacher ratio follows flexible measures for key industry departments.
Transfer Restrictions for Overseas Chinese and Foreign Students
Overseas Chinese and foreign students already enrolled in New Southbound Industry-Academia Collaboration Programs or the Overseas Chinese Students Joint Program are not allowed to transfer to the New Program.
Flexible Age Limit for Students
Whether to impose an age limit for enrollment in the New Program is at the discretion of the school and its partner companies.
