🌟 Purpose
To assist overseas Chinese and international students with securing employment in Taiwan after graduation, we are attending the "2025 Southern Taiwan Science Park Employment & Dream Pursuit Carnival" at the Kaohsiung Park of the Southern Taiwan Science Park.
Through (1) Career Exploration Seminar for International Students, (2) Biotech Company Booth Tour of the Southern Taiwan Science Park, and (3) On-Site Job Recruitment, the event aims to help international students grasp industry trends in Taiwan, enhance their employability, and successfully transition into the workforce.
Additionally, participants can collect points on-site to join activities such as professional headshot photography, self-exploration counseling, and food trucks, enriching their overall experience.
📉 Features and Implementation
To enhance international students’ understanding of Taiwan’s industrial landscape and help clarify their career development paths, the Career & Employment Hub for International Students at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) organized a visit to the 2025 Southern Taiwan Science Park (STSP) Employment & Dream Pursuit Carnival. Students from various departments participated in the event held at the Kaohsiung Science Park. Through company booth tours, career seminars, and on-site recruitment matchmaking, students gained deeper insights into Taiwan’s high-tech industries, broadened their job search horizons, and explored new career opportunities.
The “2025 STSP Employment & Dream Pursuit Carnival” was hosted by the Southern Taiwan Science Park Administration under the National Science and Technology Council, and co-organized by NSYSU, the STSP Academia-Industry Collaboration Office, the Development Center for Biotechnology, and the AI Industry-Academia Consortium. A total of 18 well-known companies participated in recruitment efforts, including Wiwynn, Zhen Ding Tech, Yageo, United Orthopedic, and SynCore Biotechnology. Job openings covered a wide range of sectors, including biotechnology, optoelectronics, communications, information technology, precision machinery, and semiconductors—demonstrating the strong talent demand in southern Taiwan’s technology industry.
In addition to self-assessment consultations and professional headshot photography, students joined a full-English introduction of the park and visited Biotech company booths to learn firsthand about each enterprise and its products. They also attended an English-language career seminar tailored for international students, where career consultant Adela Zeng (曾宣華) shared essential strategies for preparing to work in Taiwan. On-site recruitment booths enabled students to engage directly with hiring companies, significantly improving matchmaking efficiency.
Prof. Wei-Chih Lin (林韋臺), Vice President for Industry-Academia Collaboration at NSYSU, emphasized that in order to strengthen the support system for international talent retention, NSYSU established a dedicated International Alumni Zone in 2025. This initiative tracks alumni development after graduation, fosters alumni connections with the university, and supports current students through mechanisms such as all-English corporate visits, alumni career sharing sessions, and corporate career talks. These efforts ensure students are equipped with first-hand information about Taiwan’s job market, better preparing them for a smooth transition to the workforce after graduation.
Most of the participating students were master’s and doctoral students or graduating seniors from the Colleges of Engineering, Management, and Science, and from regions including Southeast Asia, South Asia, West Asia, the Americas, and Europe. Many international students expressed that the immersive experience left a deep impression on them regarding Taiwan’s technological development, and they hope to find a career starting point in Taiwan that allows them to fully apply their skills and expertise.
