🎯 Purpose
The International Industrial Talents Education special program, which is short for INTENSE program, is a scholarship program initiative. This program encourages universities to recruit international students based on the needs of businesses, with the goal of fostering collaboration between higher education institutions and enterprises, thereby attracting international students to study in Taiwan and remain for career development.
To help enterprises and international students better understand the application requirements and related regulations for program establishment — including program features, target students, admission qualifications, rights, and obligations — National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), in collaboration with National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, is organizing this briefing session to support enterprises in recruiting and training outstanding international talents.
This program features the following three key aspects:
- Encourages collaboration between universities and enterprises to jointly select and cultivate students through industry-academia collaboration.
- Combines support from both government and enterprises to enhance incentives for international talents to study and work in Taiwan.
- Integrates post-graduation employment mechanisms to assist students in transitioning to employment opportunities in Taiwan.
📌 Features and Implementation
The session began with remarks from Prof. Lin Wei-Chih (林韋至), Vice President for Industry Collaboration, NSYSU. Dr. Liu Kun-Yu then explained the INTENSE Program’s objectives and application process. Mr. Hung Po-Chieh, Project Manager of the INTENSE Program Office, and Prof. Lee Ming-Hsuan (李明軒), Vice President for International Affairs, NSYSU, engaged participants through Q&A and open discussion.
