🚌 Bus Riding Tips

  • Please use e-tickets (e.g., EasyCard, iPASS, iCash). You can pay NT$12 in cash, but no change is given.
  • Most bus stops in Kaohsiung have smart signs or dynamic displays, and you can check schedules via apps or QR codes.
  • Bus stops display route info, departure times, and contact numbers—you can call to check for the last bus.
  • Remember to wave at the bus to signal it to stop.
  • Before boarding, check the bus number and destination—major stops are marked on the bus exterior.
  • Boarding: Tap your card when getting on and off. You don’t need to check the "Pay on Boarding/Alighting" light.
  • Facilities: Coin boxes are near the front door; card readers are near both front and back doors. Prepare in advance.
  • Announcement System: Stops are shown via LED signs and announced in multiple languages.
  • Alighting: Press the stop button before your stop and take all belongings with you.
  • Etiquette: Yield priority seats. Smoking, eating, and drinking are prohibited on the bus.

🚴‍♀️ Public Bicycles (YouBike)

  • Kaohsiung uses "YouBike 2.0", available 24/7 for rental.
  • Use iPASS, EasyCard, or the official YouBike App (linked to your credit card) to scan and unlock.
  • Stations are located near MRT stations, universities, business areas, and parks for easy access.
  • After use, return the bike by pushing it into the dock and confirming with a card tap or via the app.
